 Four copies of the small magazine have reached us by post today. The sender was Rimli in Kolkata, India. When we were living in Kolkata, Rimli had asked us to write small essays related to something there. That was for an annual magazine in which she was involved as an editor. The project was collecting views from foreigners who are/have lived in Kolkata, so we wrote about Umeo's birth (PartⅠ & PartⅡ). Rimli also took many of Yuki's sketches and illustrations for the magazine, even for its cover. It's actually nice seeing them in print, and they reminded me of a particular smell of Kolkata. I e-mailed many of friends in Kolkata about this, and some of them have already contacted her to get copies. I hope they enjoy it and am looking forward to receiving their feedback! Wakana コルカタのかほり この日、小さな冊子が4冊、我が家の郵便受けに届きました。送り主は、コルカタに住むRimliでした。 私たちがコルカタに暮らしていたとき、Rimliに何かコルカタに関する文章を書いてほしい、と依頼されました。それは、年に一度発行される冊子の企画で、彼女はその編集に携わっていました。その年の企画では、コルカタに暮らす、あるいは暮らしていた外国人からの文章を集めていました。というわけで、私たちは（う）のコルカタ出産体験記（前編・後編）を書くことにしたのです。 Rimliは、（ゆ）のスケッチやイラストもたくさん載せたいと言いました。そして、とうとう冊子の表紙にまで（ゆ）のスケッチは登場します。印刷された絵を見るのもなかなかいいもので、コルカタの匂いを運んでくれました。 さっそく、コルカタの友人達に知らせると、もう何人かはRimliに連絡をとってその冊子を手に入れたようです。楽しんでくれるかしら。彼らの感想が楽しみです。 （わ） |
