 とうとう、沖縄から歩き続けている『7 Generations walk』のYさんが、雨が降り始めた野幅峠を越えて、やってきました。四国で合流した、他3名の仲間を引き連れて。  みんな、かなり身体に疲労を溜め込んでいる様子。翌朝の出発はさほど早くないようなので、恒例のみかん山ツアーはあくる日に回して、まずは囲炉裏の料理と薪風呂で、休んでもらうことにしました。 長く歩いて、時間と身体の感覚がすっかり重なってしまったメンバーたち。数時間後の身体の状態や到達距離のイメージに、高い精度があります。メンバー同士の会話は、僕たちにとってはハチャメチャで面白い。 『7 Generattions Walk』という名前は、「7世代先の子供達の為に生きよ」というインディアンの教えによるものとのこと。長老デニス・バンクス師の啓示から始めた活動です。1月にYさんが下見に来たときから、「どんな人が来ちゃうのかな」なんて（わ）と話し合っていましたが、意外にも、突拍子もない人はいません。みかん山ツアーも大はしゃぎで写メしています。こういうのは、特別なことではない、普通の感覚で参加するからこそ好いのでしょうね。 かんまん部屋を後にする時には、前の晩に囲んだように、囲炉裏の周りでギターとディジュリドゥ（Didgeridoo）のミニコンサート。心付けにと、コピーですが、『もっとコルカタ』の絵を、メンバーの一人ひとりに一枚ずつプレゼントしました。 いつもの通り、中浜まで見送りに行くと、出発の儀式というのものがあるそうで、いきなりみんなで、手を叩いて大声で歌い始めました。思わず周囲を振り返ってしまいましたが、こんな風に歌えるっていうのは、素敵なことだと思います。そしてまた、握手をしました。握手をした記憶なんて、もう何年もなかったのに、この1週間で2回も求められました。何だか不思議です。    少なくともメンバーのうち、リーダーのYさんは、この後は四国を回り、夏までに新宮まで行くそうです。秋からは若狭を出発し、東京を経由して富士山まで行きます。この道を、無事に歩ききることを、ここからお祈りしています。 （ゆ） Not losing out to the rain Finally, Mr. Y of "7 Generations walk", who has been walking from Okinawa, has come. It started raining early that evening, but he reached here, walking through Nofuku Pass, along with three other members who had joined him in Shikoku. Of course, they seemed so exhausted, but they will continue their walk again tomorrow morning towards Uwajima. I was planning to take them for a quick tour of citrus field, but changed my mind, thinking that it's better for them to take a little rest first. Anyway, Mr. Y said that the departure time wouldn't be very early tomorrow morning, so I just decided to take them tomorrow. Then we welcomed them with usual wild boar meat BBQ and hot bath heated by citrus woods. Having walked a very long way, their sense of time and own body are almost synchronized. So, they can tell how their physical conditions would be in certain hours - that's what we could understand from their conversation about tomorrow's schedule. We could enjoy just listening to what they said to each other because it's was something simply new to us. The name of the group, "7 Generations walk", was taken from a Native American proverb, which means “Lets live now, thinking of 7 generations of children following us.”Mr. Y organized this walking activity inspired by one of Native American elders. As an advance preparation to this year's walk, Mr. Y came here in Jan to confirm the route and place to stay, and it was the first time we met him. Since then, we've been wondering what kind of people would appear here, with a kind of excitement. However, all of them were as friendly as Mr. Y and very cheerful. (To be honest, we were guessing that they might be a bit funky/crazy! hahaha) When I took them to the citrus field for a quick tour, they got excited and took many photos with their mobiles, just like other guests do. Well, what they have been doing, walking a long distance, is indeed amazing, but it's nice maybe because they participate in it without loosing the sence that most of the prople have. Before leaving Kanman-beya, they did a mini-concert with their guitar and Didgeridoo(traditional aboriginal instrument) sitting around Irori. To cheer them up, I gifted a copy of my drawing from "Motto Kolkata" to each of them. As we do always, we went outside to see them off, then they suddenly started singing loudly clapping hands. It was a kind of ceremony of departure, they said. In surprise and a kid of hesitation, I looked around how our neighbors reacted, but isn't it cool that they can sing like this without hesitation? Then, we shook hands, again. I hadn't shaken hands in the last few years, but I was offered handshake twice only within this week. I felt a kind of surprise. At least Mr.Y, a leader of this group, will walk through Shikoku and reach Shingu by this summer. Then from autumn, he will start walking again from Wakasa and keep walking to Mt. Fuji via Tokyo. We wish him good luck, from Kanman-beya, for the completion of his walk. Yuki |
