Will he walk from Okinawa to Tokyo!?
Last evening, a junior from Yuki's university, who is producing rice in Nagano, gave us a call. Talking to him, Yuki said "oh, okay, most welcome!", so I thought that he would come here with his twin babies. But hanging up the phone, Yuki said "one gentleman will come here within a few days, who used to be a temple master, and he will walk from Okinawa to Tokyo". I said..."What!??"
The man, Mr. Y, really came here for a night, but he was with his wagon. He has been traveling to make a preliminary examination for the real walk starting from the coming spring. He liked Akehama and the way we live here, and scheduled to come back with his walkers on May 20th this year. Wow, we have never had such long-term advance booking!
He is the head of "7 generations walk", people who walk to rediscover the value of life. It was totally the first time that I met him, but our chat continued until midnight. Then what will happen when we will host the whole group? They seem like really powerful, thoughtful, and...mysterious! I'm looking forward to meeting their world that I've never even thought of.

沖縄から東京まで歩くですって？
昨晩、（ゆ）の大学の後輩で、長野でお米を作っているＵ君から電話がありました。（ゆ）は「ああ、そう、はい、歓迎します」と言っていたので、お、ついにＵ君が双子の赤ちゃんを連れて遊びに来てくれるのかな、なんて思っていました。けれど、電話を切った（ゆ）が言うには、元住職だった人が沖縄から東京まで歩くらしいのだけれど、うちにも寄りたいと言っているようだよ。ですって。・・・なんだそりゃ？
２日後、その人、Ｙさんは本当にやってきて、一泊していきました。けれどその日は、彼のワゴン車での登場。今度の春から仲間と歩くための、下見調査中なのだそうでした。どうやら明浜を気に入り、我が家の様子も気に入ってくれたようで、本番は５月２０日に仲間と一緒に来ると言って、去っていきました。こんな先の予約、初めてのことです。
彼は「7 generations walk」というグループの代表で、「歩く」という行為そのものから学び、感じることを大切にしている人たちです。Ｙさんとお会いするのは初めてでしたが、おしゃべりは深夜まで続きました。Ｙさんたちが５月に戻ってきたら今度は何が起きるんだろう？彼らは、パワフルで思慮深く、そしてどこか謎めいている感じです。考えもしたことのないような世界と会えるような気がして、彼らの再訪を楽しみにしています。
