There is a port right next to the place we often play. Big ships stop here carrying salt, and farmed fish are often landed here. But that day, we found something different.
Umeo found some teen-aged boys gathered and doing something. We went close and were surprised to see that they were jumping into the sea, just like that!
I've heard that some boys enjoy jumping into the sea from here and swim around, but have never seen it before. It is quite a deep sea, but the clear water shows us the bottom of the sea with fish swimming around. I wish I could jump into the sea like them! As for Umeo and Sukla, they were shocked at the beginning to see them jumping into the sea because they were always told to be careful not to fall down into the sea from this place.
However, the boys seemed to be enjoying so much, Umeo wanted to try, too. She really wished to try, but maybe its too early! Boys helped me to convince her to wait until she becomes of elementary school age at least, so she accepted reluctantly. Then what did she do? She, along with Sukla, jumped into a mud pond nearby. No one could stop them, and probably she was satisfied.

海にどぼん！
よくいく公園のすぐ横は、港になっています。塩を積んだ大きな船が来たり、養殖の魚がここから水揚げされたりするところです。ですがこの日は、何か違う光景を目にしました。
発見したのはまたしても（う）。何やら10代の少年たちが集まって何かしています。近寄ってみると、なんと彼らは次々と海に飛び込んで遊んでいるではないですか。
ここで飛び込んで泳ぐ人たちがいるとは聞いたことがありましたが、実際に目にするのは初めてでした。なかなか深い海ですが、澄んだ水の中を除くと底がくっきり見えます。ああいいなぁ、なんて羨ましく思っていたのですが、（う）と（す）はと言えば、初めての光景に始めは眼が点。何しろ、いつも落ちないように注意されている場所で、兄ちゃんたちが楽しそうに飛び込んでいるのです。どうしたことでしょう。
けれど、彼らがあんまり楽しそうなので、（う）もやりたくなってしまったようです。今にも飛び込んでみたい気でうずうずしている彼女をなだめるのが大変で、しまいには、兄ちゃんたちも「せめて小学生になったらな」と説得する始末。しぶしぶ頷いた（う）はどうしたかというと、（す）を率いて今度は近くの泥水たまりへ。こればかりは誰も止めることはできず、ひとまず満足気な（う）でした。
