愛媛が開催地となった前年の全国過疎問題シンポジウムがご縁のIさんが、旅仲間の友達2名と一緒に遊びに来てくれました。友人を連れて来てくれる、紹介してくれるというのは、僕たちにとっては大変嬉しいことです。
到着したのは夕方6時頃。かんまん部屋へ案内して、荷物を入れ込んでいるうちに暗くなり始めていましたが、「ぜひ行きましょう！」と言うので、軽トラの荷台に乗り込んでもらい、みかん山の案内へ。  段畑の風景はもちろんのことですが、そこから眺める海の景色も、これまで認識していたよりももっと長い時間軸の、大きな背景があるようです。歴史マニアを自称するこの旅人との、そこら辺の意見交換は、なかなか興味深いものでした。  晩御飯は定番の囲炉裏バーベキュー。妄想コンドルの会の炭で、ついこのあいだ獲れた猪肉とお向さんにもらった野菜焼いていきます。ビールがよく合う。口直しは、この集落自慢の今市水産の釜揚げしらすと、宇和の豆道楽の豆腐で冷奴。そして新潟土産の白米の握り飯。あれ、見た目の豪勢さの割には、あまり手が掛かっていない？ おもてなしと呼べるようなものではありませんが、この場所のこの感じを楽しんでくれたようです。かんまん部屋の改修も褒めてもらって、いよいよ気分は上々です。 翌日、中浜までみんなで見送りに行きました。車に荷物を詰め込んで、別れ際に「これをご縁に、今後とも」と握手をしました。どきっとしますね。そういえば、握手をするなんて、しばらく、もうしていなかったな。幼馴染やインド、ネパールで時間をともに過ごした人々のことまで、ふと思い出しました。 今度は一泊と言わず、もう少しゆっくりしていって下さいね。お待ちしています。この風景の考察も、もう少し進めておきます。 （ゆ） Hooped World I had met Ms.I at "National Symposium on Depopulation -in Ehime" held in last year, in which we were both panelists of the same session group. This time, she visited us with two of her friends from Tokyo. We are very happy to welcome our friends who bring some new people like she did. They arrived at around 6pm. As they were bringing their luggage into Kanman-beya, it was getting quite dark. However, they were so curious to go out for a quick tour of our citrus fields, that I asked them to sit at the back of the small truck, and we headed for a tour. Ms.I called herself 'queen of history', and it was interesting to exchange opinions about the history of the terraced fields and deeply-indented coastline. According to her, there are much deeper and wider backgrounds behind those views. For dinner, we organized BBQ around the Irori as always. We built a fire with coal made by a local group of elderly men named "Moso Condor no Kai", and enjoyed fresh wild boar meat and vegetables given by our neighbor. They all went well with beer! Side menus were boiled whitebait, which is one of Akehama's specialties, and local fresh Tofu. There were rice balls made by Niigata rice given as souvenirs before. Oops, they looked quite gorgeous, but I had not really laid a hand on them! (they didn't need much cooking indeed!) We really didn't do much, but they seemed to enjoy the atmosphere of this place as it is. We were so happy to know that they liked to see how this house was renovated, too. The next day, we went to the seaside, where their car was parked, to see them off. After they put their luggage into the car ,they shook hands saying " it was nice meeting your family, and I hope we can continue our good relationship". Wow, think of it, I hadn't shaken hands for a long time, but it reminded me about my old friends and even people whom I met in Nepal and India. When next time they come, I hope that they can stay a bit longer. I'll consider more about the history of the view, and am looking forward to exchanging our perspectives, again. Yuki |
