「レミ」とは僕の実姉の名前である。
小さいころからそのように馴染んできたのですが、大学研究室に所属するようになって、この名前のフランス人と仲良くなりました。どちらかと言えば、髭の濃い男性です。当時の彼は客員研究員として在籍していました。夜型の人で、泊まり込み続きで忙しくしている僕たちの同期と過ごす時間がおのずと長くなり、みんなと仲良くしてくれました。いつもシシシッと独特の笑みで話しかけてくれます。 それ以来だから、もう10年ぶりくらいになります。久しぶりに再会したのは、先日のシンポジウムでのこと。彼は総合司会者の一人でした。帰国してからもフランスの大学で教員として、研究を続けています。 シンポジウムから一ヶ月ほどして、突然彼から電話がかかってきました。まだ日本にいることも知らなかったのですが、妻を連れて、ちょっと遊びに行っていいかと言います。それはありがたい、ぜひにとお迎えしたわけです。 折よく、かんまん部屋を訪ねたいとの連絡を前からもらっていた、愛媛の南予への移住を考えている埼玉在住のカップルの訪問日とも日程が重なり、一緒におしゃべりやみかん山ツアーを楽しみました。しかも顔見知りなのは、僕とレミさんだけ。他はみんな初対面。 こういうことが起こると妙に気分がよくなるもので、結局みんなで夕食も一緒にとることになり、お酒も大分飲みました。宿泊者が一回は料理をもてなす、というかんまん部屋独自ルールもすんなり了承してもらい、（ま）がまだ小さいこともあって、助かります。宴には地元ジイやんのUさんや、仲の良い友人もかけつけてくれました。いい日でした。     来てくれてどうもありがとう。10年以上経ちましたが、お互いの雰囲気は変わらずに、少し体系と、とりまく家族の状況が変わっていましたね。宿帳には何て書いていってくれたのでしょう。フランス語でしょうか、読めません（誰か訳して・・・）。 また会いましょう。それまでお互い、健やかに （ゆ） Re'mi traveled great distance "Remi" is indeed my elder sister's first name. Since I was a child, the name had been familiar to me as my sister's name, but I became a good friend of a French guy whose name is Re'mi when I was a post graduate student. You can say that he is a kind of hairy guy, and he had been enrolled at the university as a visiting researcher. He is a late-night person, and so were we, myself and my laboratory-mates. As we were engaged in a lot of projects and researches, it was natural that we used to hang out together and became good friends. He used to talk to us with his characteristic smile. Well, it was the first time I'd seen him after 10 years at the conference room of the symposium. He was there as one of the main facilitators. Since going back to France after his research in Japan 10 years ago, he has been continuing his research being a teacher at the university there. About one month after the symposium, I suddenly received a call from him. I didn't even know that he was still in Japan, but he asked me if he could visit us with his wife. Of course they were most welcome, so that's how they came here! Co-incidentally, we had another couple of guests that day who are living in Saitama-prefecture and considering to move to Nanyo-district of Ehime prefenture where we are, and contacted us to visit Kanmanbeya. We enjoyed chatting and the citrus-field-tour together. Well, among us, only Re'mi and myself knew each other, but the rest were all new to each other. This kind of happy coincidence makes me happy, and after all, all of us had dinner together that night, and I had quite a lot of Sake. Our guests are always hard workers, and they were not exceptions. They happily prepared the meal that evening, which was really helpful for us with infant-Makasa. As always, neighborhood grandpa and friends joined our dinner party. It WAS such a good day! Thank you very much for coming. It has been 10 years since we met last time, but there was no change in atmosphere we create between us except a little bit of our body shapes and family structures.
