Umeo and Sukla look really happy with their little sister, Makasa.
I forgot since when, but Sukla calls Makasa "Papparu". Sukla says he gave this nickname and he thinks it's really cute. We don't know how it came up though! This often confuses our neighbors. When someone asks "how is your baby? Boy or girl? Oh, girl, I see, then what's her name?"
Then, Sukla immediately answers "her name is Papparu!"
The name Makasa itself is indeed confusing to many of neighbors. Besides that, here comes Sukla's answer...with a big smile.
As for Umeo, she enjoys giving Makasa a company lying down next to her. In the morning, when I call her for breakfast, she often doesn't appear soon. In that case, I can find her next to Makasa. One day, I asked Umeo what she was doing next to Makasa, then her aswer was "In case someone comes and kidnaps Makasa, I'm keeping my eyes on her". Umeo was quite serious!
Makasa herself seems quite tough surviving in this noisy environment. Two big kids are always running around and shouting, and whenever Makasa sleeps on the Futon mat, they come and touch her. Well, it's more than anything that Umeo and Sukla welcome Makasa, and Makasa is getting adjusted in the last one month since she arrived. Well, done!
I hope each of them goes their own way with whatever they believe.

ぱっぱる
（う）と（す）が、妹の（ま）をかわいがる様子はかなり面白い。
いつからかは忘れてしまったのですが、（す）は（ま）のことを「ぱっぱる」と呼びます。（す）が言うには、これはニックネームでとてもかわいい呼び名だそうです。私たちにもその由来は不明なので、一体どこから閃いたのやら。ともかく「ぱっぱる」も可愛らしい響きなのでいいのですが、度々近所の人を混乱させてしまいます。近所のおばちゃんが「赤ちゃんどう？どっちだったの？あら、女の子？いいわね、それで名前は？」とくれば、（す）がすかさず
「ぱっぱるでぇー（「ぱっぱる」だよー）」
と笑顔で答えます。「万傘」だけでも聞き返されるというのに、「ぱっぱる」という呼び名を説明しようものなら、おばちゃんの顔に？？？マークが並びます。
（う）はというと、（ま）の横でごろごろしながら眺めているのが大好き。毎朝、朝食ができたよ、と（う）を呼んでもすぐには姿を見せません。そういう時は、たいてい（ま）の横にいます。ある日、横で何をしているのと聞いてみると、「誰かが来て連れて行ったら困るけん見張ってるの！」と真面目な返答。
（ま）自身は、この一ヶ月、よくこの騒がしい家でたくましく過ごしてきていると思います。二人の大きな兄姉がドタドタ駆け回り、大声で叫びまくるなか、眠りについたなと思って布団の上に置けば、二人がやってきて横でつついたりゴロゴロしたり。それでも、あっぱれ、よく眠っています。
三者三様、それぞれにたくましく、健やかに！
