今回の会場は山本牧場。自然の学校のことを知る前に、一度遊びに行ったことがあります。
丘のてっぺんまで歩いていくことができるのですが、普段は牛が放牧されているそうで、遊歩道には牛や鹿のフンがそこらじゅうに落っこっています。用心して歩を進め、子どもたちの遊びに気を配るのは、案外愉快です。 この自然の学校は、イベントとしておこなっているものではありません。教育の一環として、発起人の呼びかけに賛同する家族が集まり、一緒に過ごします。一応の集合と解散の時刻に目安を設けてはありますが、ゆるりと始まり、最後はおしゃべりとなって、早く帰る家族もあれば、いつまでも会場に残っている家族もあります。 この日もお母さんは別行動。お父さんと子どもたちは、羽釜に薪火でご飯を炊き、山本牧場で朝採れの新鮮有精卵をおかずにランチをします。天気予報がはずれて午前中は雨が降り続き、外で遊びにくい天候の上に、ゆるりと始まったので、お母さん組が引き上げた頃には、すぐ炊き込みにかからねばならなくなっていました。  火の周りは子どもたちに大人気。みんな薪を扱いたがるので、棒でつんつんつついたり、叩いたりして、なかなか火が大きくなりません。羽釜から吹き上がって火を小さくしたい時にはもう飽きて、さっきの群がりはどこへ行ったのやら。子どもは、やはり大人の思惑通りには動かないものですね。火加減の管理を失敗して、ご飯はおこげがたっぷりになってしまいました。 少し冷えてしまったご飯をかき込んだ後は、お日様も出てきて、丘の上までピクニックしたり、広場で走り回ったり、思い思いの場所で遊びます。持参したカーゴネットの出番はありませんでしたが、明浜のみかん山が会場になったときには、大木の太枝にひっかけて、遊んでもらいたいと思います。 （ゆ） Playing with nature in Mimaki -3 We gathered at Yamamoto Farm for this month's activity, which we had visited once, before coming to know about "Mimaki Shizen no Gakkou". There is a huge hill, where usually cows are put to grass, and we can walk up to the top. Naturally, we can find a lot of cow dung and deer dung here and there. It's actually fun walking cautiously about the dung, and paying attention to kids' playing at the same time. This "Mimaki" activity is meant to be part of education rather than ad hoc event. Those families who agree to the organizer's concept gather and spend some time together. Well, starting and ending time are set, but not so strict. It starts whenever members are gathered, and some stay even after the closing time chatting for a long time. That day also, mothers stayed away from their kids, while fathers and kids made a small bonfire and cooked rice for lunch. We ate the rice with fresh sperm-eggs that were collected that morning at Yamamoto Farm. It kept raining unexpectedly, so it was a bit difficult to play around outside. Furthermore, it started quite late that day, so we had to start preparing lunch as soon as mothers left the farm. Kids love bonfire. They all wanted to touch the firewood in the bonfire; some poked and others hit the firewood with branches. Thanks to that, it took such a long time to make the fire big enough! When rice was ready, and it was time to put the fire out, they had already got bored of playing with fire and gone somewhere else. Well, kids never act as adults expect. Due to mismanagement of the heat level, some rice had stuck to the bottom of the pot. By the time I finished eating the rice, that had became a bit cold, it became sunny. Some went for picnic up to the hill, and others ran around in the open field. Although I brought our huge cargo net that day, I didn't have a chance to use it. By any chance, if "Mimaki" activity is taken place in our place, Akehama, I'll put it up on the big citrus trees and let them play on it. Yuki |
