森のようちえん全国交流フォーラムに参加してきました。
“森のようちえん”とは、園舎や園庭を必要条件としない保育の方法で、一定の自然環境の中での野外保育、さらにそこでの活動内容は基本的には自由保育、というものです。デンマークの一人のお母さんが、自分の子どもとおとなりの子どもを森の中で保育したのが始まりと言われています。立地や実状に合わせた運営スタイルがあり、シュタイナー教育やホリスティック教育などとの接点も見出すことができそうですし、もちろん、既存の幼稚園環境と対立するものではありません。 実は僕たちは、“森のようちえん”という言葉を聞いたことすらなかったのです。僕たちの住むこの集落出身の友人Yさんに紹介されて初めて知りました。どうもYさんは、僕たちになら森のようちえんができるんじゃないか、なんて思いもあるみたい。 全国交流フォーラムは今回で8回目、兵庫県美方郡香美町の『美方高原自然の家「とちのき村」』を会場におこなわれました。年の瀬を意識し始めるこの時期になって、今年の家族旅行が実現しました。  フォーラムは3日間の日程。基調講演と時間ごとに区切られたいくつもの分科会とで構成されています。 もともと関係者の交流や情報交換を目的としたフォーラムなだけに、正直戸惑うこともある一方、ほとんど予備知識もなく参加したにもかかわらず、ごるぽっこの経験や、（う）や（す）との何気ない普段の生活を通してイメージできることも少なくありませんでした。特にアピールするものもなく、なかなかきっかけをつかめずにいましたが、何人かの人とゆっくり話した印象では、森のようちえんという取り組みが要求することに、僕たちが応えられることも何かしらありそうです。一つのポイントは、“教育”の現場として、捉える感性を持ち得るかどうかでしょうね。これは僕たちが苦手とするところではあるのですが。  それにしても、（う）と（す）の自由度の大きさは、この中にあってもなかなか目立っていたように思います。託児を不憫なほど嫌がった（う）のために、僕も（わ）も二人とも、分科会を1コマずつ欠席することになってしましたが、考えてみれば、かわいそうですね。面識ない人間がこれほど集まったことなんて、経験したことないのですから。   （ゆ） Forest Kindergarten -attending the annual forum We went to Hyogo prefecture to attend "Annual Forum of Forest Kindergarten Network". The concept of "Forest Kindergarten" is, basically, to raise children in a certain natural environment. It's not necessary to have a school building with a garden, and its activity is to let children play freely in nature. It was started by a Danish mother who took her own and her neighbor's children to nearby forest and spent most of the time there. Nowadays, the style of activities varies depending on location and other conditions, and it seems like there are some things in common with Steiner education and Holistic education. Of course, the concept of Forest Kindergarten and today's primary school education are not opposed to each other. Actually, we hadn't even heard of the word "Forest Kindergarten" before. We got to know through one of our neighbors, who now lives out of Ehime. She introduced this concept to us with a little expectation that we may start up that kind of activity in our locality. The annual forum was the 8th one. It was held in "Tochinoki-village" of Mikata-highland Natural Center in Komi-town, Mikata-district, Hyogo. We made this year's family trip happen at the end of the year. The forum was a three-day event, and was organized with keynote lectures and various workshops. Through this event, participants were expected to widen their network and share information with each other, so we were totally an "outsider" in a sense. However, it was not so hard to imagine what they talked about because of our Golpo-kko experience and daily life with Umeo and Sukla. We really didn't have anything special, as activities, as input for others, but it seems like there are some things that we could also do with the Forest Kindergarten concept. This is what we felt through the conversations with some other participants. One of the key perspectives to adopt the concept would be whether we could understand the style of raising kids as "education" or not. Well, we are not sure about this point though. Many of participants came with their own children. Even among those kids, Umeo and Sukla acted with great freedom. There were day nursery rooms at the site so that parents could attend their workshops, but Umeo strongly refused to stay away from us even for an hour. So, we canceled one of our workshops and played with Umeo and Sukla in turns. Well, come to think of it, it was too much for her because she had never experienced being among such a large number of unacquainted people! Yuki |
