 帰省していたSさんが、明浜を離れる日が近づいてきました。 早朝はまだ良かったのですが、日が上ってくると、日差しがひときわ厳しい日でした。ちょうどきりの良いところまで草刈りを仕上げ、山を下り、ふと思い出して、作業着のまま、Sさんの実家とかんまん部屋のよく見える、みかん畑のある人家近くの丘へ登り、スケッチをとりました。 このスケッチに加え、Sさんの長子の娘Mちゃんの個性的な笑顔をイラストにして、この間ずっと家族ぐるみで仲よくしてくれた喜びと、新たな出会いに導いてくれた感謝を込めて、お土産として贈りたいと思っています。 （ゆ） Thanks sketch S-san and her kids will go back to their home in America, soon. It was such a hot day; it was better in the early morning though. I finished my work for the day, that was grass cutting, and came down from the citrus field. Suddenly I just remembered about them and went right on to another field from where I can view both S-san's parents' house and our house well. Then, I made a sketch there. Along with this sketch, I drew an illustration of her daughter who has a sweet and distinctive smile. I'd like to give these sketches to her when she leaves this place, thanking her not only for being close family friends with us, but also for letting us to meet new friends. Yuki |
