H-san, who lives three-doors-next, and his family are now our close family friends. That day, we sat in the boat he sails and we enjoyed cruising to the small lighthouse!
There was H-san, his daughter with her kids, four of us, plus another family from Philadelphia! What a variety of guests Akehama has. They are friends of S-san, and since they had come to Japan, they decided to see Ehime, too. They also have two kids, 5-year-old K and 10-month-old R. Since we got to know that the family would come to Akehama, S-san asked us to co-host them, so we spent some time together and talked a lot. The husband, E, is an American who can make / repair anything from chicken cleaning to building houses. The wife, S, is Japanese originally from Kanagawa prefecture. When S-san was busy, we took a walk together to a local shrine, and at night, we enjoyed Irori-BBQ with wild boar meat that H-san had hunted.
So the cruising was a special entertainment for them, and thanks to them, we could join the exciting event. Smelling the breeze from the sea, I looked around at the people who were sitting on the boat. Each of us has different background, but somehow we met here and are now enjoying together. This time, this is maybe thanks to the strong energy that H-san has.

3軒隣のHさんとは、今では家族ぐるみのお付き合い。今日はHさんの運転する船に乗って、近所の海を灯台までクルージングに出かけました。
というのも、Hさんの娘のSさんと私たちの他に、この日船の上にはもう一家族。フィラデルフィアでのSさんのお友達の一家が一緒でした。彼らも5歳のKと10か月のRを連れています。奥さんの里帰りで日本に帰って来たので、Sさん訪ねてちょっと四国まで行ってみようか、といってやってきたのでした。
彼らがやってくるとなってから、私たちはSさんから「一緒に迎える手伝いをしてほしい」と頼まれていました。というわけで、我が家にも一泊してもらったり、夜にはHさんの猪肉でいつもの囲炉裏BBQをしたり。Sさんが忙しいときには、近所の神社まで一緒にいったりと、たくさんおしゃべりする機会が持てました。アメリカ人の旦那さんのEは、何でも作れてしまう人。鶏を捌くことから家を建てることまでおちゃのこさいさい、。奥さんのSさんも素敵なオーラの持ち主で、元は神奈川県の出身です。
というわけで、クルージングは彼らのための特別企画だったのですが、嬉しいことに一緒に乗ることができたのでした。潮風の匂いをかぎながら、船に乗り込んだ人たちの顔を眺めていました。それぞれ、別々の背景を持ちながら、縁あって一緒に楽しい時間を過ごしています。今回は、Hさんが日頃から放っている力強いエネルギーに吸い寄せられた縁かしら、なんて思ったりしました。
