 November 15 was The Seven-Five-Three Festival, that is, when parents with boys of five, girls of seven and either boys or girls of three years of age, take them to shrines where they pray for their children's future. Usually for this festival, Kids' ages are counted in her/his year instead of full year. However, we totally forgot this, and yes, this is Umeo's 3rd year....! So, on this Sunny Sunday, we decided to go to the local shrine to pray and take photos. We dressed Umeo in special clothes made by Kolkata's natural dye aritist, Ajit-da, which was totally handmade, from material to painting, and gifted just before we left India.  It was fun because as we were going, Hikaru joined us, then Yonchan, and finally the mother and son of Okimura family came along with us. We prayed, took some photos, and came back together chatting of this and that as always. It was such a simple celebration, but I liked it because we did it with our favorite neighbors and Umeo seemed enjoyed a lot, too. Wakana 七五三 １１月１５日は七五三の日。普通は数え年の七、五、三歳で祝うということだそうなのに、私たちは（う）が今年該当していることにすっかり忘れておりました。 そこで、この好いお天気の日曜日、近くの春日神社に行ってお祈りをして写真を撮ろうということになりました。（う）には、とっておきの服を着せました。コルカタの天然染料アーティストのアジットさんお手製の服で、私たちの帰国直前に贈ってくれたものでした。 おかしかったのが、私たちが家を出て神社に着くまでに、ひかるが加わり、よんちゃんが加わり、最後は沖村家のお母さんと一平までやってきたこと。一緒にお参りして、写真を撮って、いつも通りあれこれおしゃべりをしながら帰ってきました。  とってもあっさりとした七五三。でも仲良しのご近所さんと一緒にお祝いし、（う）も楽しんでいたのでなかなか良いお祝いになりました。 （わ）  |
