July 7th is the Japanese star festival called Tanabata. Although in this area, they celebrate Tanabata according to an old calendar, i.e. Aug 7, we decorated a young bamboo tree/branch and put it at the entrance of the community hall as a Kintaro activity of this month. This is the 4th Kintaro of this fiscal year, and now mothers are quite used to handling all kids whose ages vary from just born to 3 years. Some run around and others just crowd here and there trying to put whatever they see into their mouth..., but we, mothers, now know their nature, so we can manage! Every month, Kintaro improves our teamwork. Wakana 金太郎と七夕 本日は七夕なり。ここらでは旧暦に従って8月7日に七夕を祝う習慣があるけれど、今月の「金太郎」の活動として私たちは七夕飾りを作って、公民館の玄関口に飾ってもらいました。 これで今年度4回目の「金太郎」。今やお母さんたちも、0歳から3歳児まで年齢幅いろいろの子供たちとの付き合い方にだいぶ慣れてきています。こっちの子は走り回り、あっちの子は這いずり回って手当たり次第口に入れる・・・。でも大丈夫！私たちは彼らの性格や傾向をだいぶつかんできているので何とか手分けして対応します。毎月、「金太郎」は私たち母親のチームワークを高めてくれているようです。 （わ）
