Soramame(broad bean) and Biwa (loquat/Japanese plum) have such pleasant colors.
 Yuki has been growing Soramame since last winter, and now they are ready to eat! He brought a container (plenty!!) of it last evening, and I peeled them that night. The speed of peeling became faster and more rhythmic as I did. I was thinking of how to cook it and now I'm looking forward to serving it to three friends who will come here from Tokyo and the U.S. next week.  Lots of Biwa were brought to us by Ms. E, whose daughter is as old as Umeo. Biwa is definitely my favorite, so it's like a dream eating them as much as I want. I gave some of them to Mrs.O, too.Biwa makes me so happy, not only with its taste but also with its beautiful colors. After Soramame and Biwa, real summer will come here soon. Wakana この緑と淡いオレンジの色に魅せられてしまう そら豆とびわの色を見ただけで、心がにまぁっとほぐれてしまいます。 昨年の冬から（ゆ）が育てていたそら豆が、とうとう食べごろを迎え、この日の夕方、籠一杯にして持って帰ってきました。私は「その日のうちに剥いてしまおう！」と決め、取り掛かりました。どんな料理を作ろうか、そして次の週から東京とアメリカからやってくる友人たちにどう振舞おうか、そんなことを考えながら、皮を剥くスピードはよりリズミカルに、そして速くなっていきます。 そして（う）と同い年の子を持つEさんから届いたたくさんのびわたち！ びわは昔からの私の大好物。その味はもちろんのこと、このなんとも言えない美しい色が、私をいっそう喜ばせてくれます。こんなに好きなだけ食べられることが幸せでなりません。この幸せを、Oさんにもおすそ分けしました。 そら豆、そしてびわの季節が終わると、もうすぐ夏がやってくるようです。 （わ） |
