大晦日、去年のコルカタでの年越しを思い出していました。コルカタでの日々は、一つ一つの出来事がなぜか全て近くの出来事のように思い出されるから不思議です。あっちにいたときの（う）の様子もはっきり思い出せます。背景などが全く違ったからでしょうか。
（う）と一緒に暮らし始めて、毎日が真剣勝負で新鮮です。今回、年越しだからとあらたまった気持ちになっても、大晦日だからとぐうたらしたくても、（う）は相変わらずいつもと同じ様。朝も早いし、定期的に腹も減る。彼女にとっては大晦日も元旦もいつも同じでいつも新しい一日。そうか、そうだよね。教えてくれてありがとう。
主婦という役割を生まれて初めて担った年。家事や時間の使い方も、想像以上にチャレンジングで工夫の余地があるものなのだと知りました。地域の人たちの助けを大いに借りながら、まだ修行は続きそうです。
明浜という地で生活を始めた年でもありました。コルカタに続き、期待以上に沢山の友人が足を運んでくれて、なんて幸せなことなのだろうと驚き、喜んでしみじみしています。日本各地から、インドから。毎度ながら、人が動くということの大きさを思い知らされています。ありがとうございました。
2010年、どんな出会いがあるでしょうか。毎日過ごす（う）や（ゆ）との時間を楽しみながら、出会う人や光景を大切にしながら、たくさん笑える年でありますように。

2010 has started
I was thinking back to the 2009 New Year's day in Kolkata today. I still feel everything happend there very close. I can clearly recall how Umeo was like in our flat in Kolkata. I wonder why; maybe because all the environment was totally different from here. Kolkata is still vivid
Since we started living with Umeo, every single day has been new and learning experience. Here, usually people take rest and relaxed during New Year days expect babies. It's nothing special to Umeo, or I should say that every day is special and new to her. This is what I think spending time with her. Thanks, Umeo. Yes, every day shoud be special.:)
2009 was the first year for me to experience the role, housewife. I got to know that it's more challenging than I expected to do housework and time management. It IS challenging, but I enjoy tackling them. I'm still under "training period" with a big help of neighbors.
2009 was also the year which we started our new life in Akehama. We are really grateful to our precious friends and family who came all the way to see us! Some of them visited us in Kolkata as well.
As 2010 started, I'm excited imagining things that may happen to us in this year. I wish a happy new year with lots of smiles, and I'd like to enjoy and appreciate the time spending with my family, friends and this whole village.
