Totally different from "mother", neither friend nor teacher. Well, yes, she is my... "favorite person"!
 She, my own auntie A-san, is based in Tokyo and visits us in Akehama almost once a year. During weekdays, she worked so hard cleaning Kanman-beya, shinning up kettles, and prepared our dinner. One day, Yuki took her to Hiburi-island where he had been interested in going for a long time for its historical background, and doing a day trip to the island attracted A-san, too. As for me, I requested her to help me using my new sewing machine one morning when I took a day off from the office. With fine cotton cloth, I had been wanting to make easy wrap pants for myself. We couldn't complete it that day, but I finished making a day after she left; yeah!  For the weekend,we planned a small trip to Matsuyama, getting H-chan and Y-chan involved too. We thought that they would be the best company for this trip not only because they are good friends of ours, but also because of their unique personalities and careers. However, it was much beyond our expectation; we all got along very well, including kids, and women's talk never stopped in the car, in the hot spring, over drinks and so on... H-chan, who is based in Matsuyama navigated us to various interesting places. For the first night, we stayed at a traditional Japanese style hotel, Taniya, and the next day, she took us to Omogo valley where we purified ourselves with beautiful view, water, and fresh air. (Lots of horseflies scared us, though!)  A-san is such a insightful person backed by her experience and studies. So, whatever ball you throw to her, she will catch it and throw it back to you with unexpected comment and perspective; that what we enjoy most being with her. We saw her off at a the bus terminal in Matsuyama on Saturday evening. Being back home, on Sunday morning, Umeo woke up happily and said "What a fun trip we had...!" . When Umeo is physically tired after exciting trips or events, usually she is not in a good mood like that when she wakes up. So I knew that she had a special time as well. A-san's extraordinary days spent with us has charged us up this summer. Dear A-san, we are going to continue enjoying and struggling in living here, so please visit us with your yummy Sake and snacks anytime! Wakana   あの人の非日常 母親とは全く違う存在。友人でも師匠でもないし, あの人は、私の・・・「私の好きな人」！ 東京に暮らす叔母のＡさんは、明浜にだいたい一年半に一回くらいのペースで遊びに来てくれます。 平日は、家の家事をして汗だくに。かんまん部屋の掃除をし、ヤカンを二つも磨き、毎日に夕食の準備まで任せっきり。一日は、（ゆ）がその歴史的背景より予てから気になっていた日振島にＡさんを連れていきました。そこでの景色や出会いなど、二人してグッときたとのこと、夕飯時に話してくれました。私は、朝の短い間に新品のミシン使いを手伝ってもらい、ずっと作りたかった「巻きズボン」を一緒に作ってもらいました。Kanikaがインドから送ってくれた、気持ちいい手織り綿とミシンが、おかげでようやく活用されました。この日のうちには完成に至らなかったけど、Ａさんが帰った翌日にはちゃんと仕上げることが出来ましたよ！ 週末には、珍しく松山での一泊旅行を企画。先日一緒に囲炉裏を囲んだＨちゃんとＹちゃんも一緒です。このお二人、一緒に行ったらなんだか素敵な旅になりそうな気がしていたのですが、忙しい二人の都合がついてよかったです。彼女たちの経歴、関心、それに悩み事など諸々、Ａさん交えて話が盛り上がりそうなことばかり。実際、期待を上回る盛り上がりで、車中でも温泉の中でも夜のお酒を囲んでも、あれまぁ、皆よくしゃべり、よく笑いました、ね。 Ｈちゃんは松山に住んでいて、面白い場所をたくさん知っています。泊った旅館の「谷屋」さんも素敵だったし、翌日足を延ばした久万高原の面河渓国も何ともいい体験でした。澄んだ水と空気と切り立った岩に囲まれて、浮き輪を持った子どもたちと（ゆ）はザブン！（虻の大群にはびっくりさせられましたが・・・）  洞察力溢れるＡさんは、想像もできない経験や勉強に裏付けられた隠し引出しを山ほど持っています。だからどんな球を投げ込んでも、はっとする解釈付きでその球は返ってきます。そんなのの繰り返しで楽しませてもらっているのです。 土曜日の夕方、松山のバス停で東京へ帰るＡさんを見送って、私たちは帰宅しました。翌朝、目覚めるなり（う）が第一声「あー楽しい旅行だったーー！」とご機嫌です。これはとても珍しいことで、楽しい旅行やイベントの後でも、体は疲れているので寝起きは割とよろしくないことが多いのです。よほど特別な時間を過ごしたのでしょうね。  こうして、Ａさんの非日常と私たちの日常が交差した夏でした。私たちは、ここで試行錯誤で楽しみながら暮らしているよ。だからいつでもまた、美味しい酒の肴と共に遊びに来てよね、Ａさん。 （わ）  |
