A great neighbor of ours, Y-chan, requested us to take care of her vegetable garden. Since Yuki is really busy this month, I went to see the place with the kids.
It was not a very big plot, but just the size for us. The kids were quite excited, so we went to buy some seeds of winter vegetables to start with.
There are a couple of persimmon trees and some summer vegetables still left. The kids found their own favorite spot and started working on whatever they wished; Umeo found wildflowers and replanted them, Sukla climbed up the persimmon trees and came down with a lot of fruit, and Makasa started biting into the eggplants...meanwhile I got ready for sowing.
In the evening, the kids seemed still in excitement. Since then, they have been enjoying the visit to our small vegetable garden.

よんちゃんの野菜畑
我らの良きご近所おばあちゃんのYちゃんが、ふいに「うちの野菜畑やらんか？」と言ってくれました。（ゆ）はとっても忙しい時期だったこともあり、私と子どもたちだけで見に行くことにしました。
大きな場所ではないけれど、私たちにはぴったりです。子どもたちも喜んで、さっそく冬野菜の種を買いに出かけることに。
畑には柿の木も２本あって、夏野菜も少しまだ残っていました。シャベルを持って畑に入ると、子どもたちは銘々に好きなことに没頭し始めました。（う）は、気に入った野花を探して来ては、自分のエリアと決めた場所に移植しています。（す）は柿の木に登って、採れるだけ採って満足気。（ま）はナスをバリバリ食べていました。そのうちに、私はいそいそと種まきの準備です。
夜、家でも子どもたちは何だかご機嫌。日中気持ちよく過ごせたのかな。それからは、「自分たち」の野菜畑に足を運ぶのが楽しそうです。
