 This is who I had been wishing to visit. And on this fine day, finally, I made it. Since I found Y-san of REQU on a local magazine, I knew that I would visit and talk to her in the near future. I didn't know why, maybe because I was happy to know that there is someone who is active and creative. She is around my age, and that could be another reason why I felt so close to her. And sometime later, I found her product, a ball made by fine Japanese paper. I liked the concept of the ball which is "make fine Japanese paper touchable and playable". Sensitive Japanese paper is very thin, so adults tend to tell the kids not to touch it, but this ball is an exception. Kids are welcome to play with it, and if it got a hole, they can repair it.     So, making an appointment, we visited her studio as a family. As I had felt, she was really kind and cheerful. She showed us her studio and parts of her work. While chatting, we got to know that she saw "Motto Kolkata" at Ikedaya, and she really liked it, and she would love to have Irori-BBQ party with us. That's going to be really cool! Coming back home, Umeo and Sukla started making something with the paper. Umeo made her own mobiles and Sukla made "dinosaur foot prints". Has Y-san's artisan work reached these kids!? Even to us, it was stimulating and a happy time at REQU studio. Thank you very much, Y-san, and looking forward to welcoming you soon! Wakana りくう ある気持ちのいい日、ついに、ずっと会いたかった人に会えました。 以前に、地元の広報紙で「りくう」のYさんの記事を見つけて以来、ずっと気になっていていつか会っておしゃべりをしてみたいなと思っていました。なぜそんなに気になったのかは、実はよく分からないのですが、同世代に活動的でクリエイティブな人を見つけたことが嬉しかったからかもしれません。 それからしばらくして、池田屋さんに遊びに行った時に、彼女の作品の「和紙ボール」が展示されているのを目にしました。そのコンセプトが素敵で、上質の和紙といえば、大人は子供に「触らないで！」と言いがちですが、このボールは遊んでよし、穴開けてよし。和紙の部分に穴が空けば、Ｙさんが直してくれるのです。 そしてある日、事前に都合を聞いて、家族そろって彼女の工房に見学に行かせてもらえることになったのでした。思い込んでいた通り、親切で明るい女性でした。私たちに工房を案内して、和紙のモビールを作る工程を一部見せてくれました。おしゃべりをしているうちに、彼女が池田屋さんに置いてある『もっとコルカタ』を見て印象的だったと言ってくれたのにはびっくり。そして、かんまん部屋で一緒に囲炉裏BBQもしてみたいとのこと。あら嬉しい！ その日帰ってから、（う）と（す）が何やら紙で作りはじめました。（う）はハート形のモビールを、（す）は「恐竜の足跡」という作品を作りました。Yさんの職人魂が子どもたちにも届いたのかな？ともあれ、私たちにとって、とても刺激的で幸せな時間でした。Yさんどうもありがとう。そして、かんまん部屋へのご来場お待ちしております！ （わ）
