I think she is one of the rare friends who understands me in various areas of activities. She also has the experience of working in international cooperation field, and we worked for the same company in Tokyo before. Moreover, she has visited us in Kolkata when Umeo was born...and now she came to see us in Akehama!
She is 4 years older, really active and positive, and it's my pleasure to host her here and been witnessed by her in this challenging but exciting way of living. During her stay, we had an Irori-BBQ with fresh wild boar meats till midnight as always, then our neighbor H-san took her for fishing in the early morning next day in his boat, then she came to Tanekko with us...what a full schedule for the short stay. We don't meet often, and don't even e-mail each other so often, but still I am very close and comfortable. I appreciate that our life here is supported by and connected with many friends, like her, whom we can really talk anything. Now, she is at the new stage of life starting to work as an assistant of a famous photographer near Tokyo. I'm proud of her new challenge, and hope she enjoys the work. Soon after she went back home, one exciting parcel was delivered with her warm letter and her new-boss's work. All the best and see you in a while! Wakana 友の不思議 思うに、彼女は様々な場面で私の活動の様子を見て来てくれている、数少ない友人の一人です。地域は違えど、国際協力の世界にいた経験もあり、東京にいた時には、同じ会社で働いていました。そして、コルカタで（う）が産まれた時には遊びに来てくれたし、この度も明浜まで足を運んでくれました。 4歳ほど年上で、活発で前向きなこの友人を、挑戦的かつ刺激的なここでの生活に迎えることが出来て嬉しく思います。彼女の滞在の間に、お馴染みの新鮮猪肉で深夜まで続く囲炉裏ＢＢＱも出来ました。次の日の早朝には、近所のＨさんが彼女を船で釣にも連れて行き、そして日中は「たねっこ」にも一緒に来てくれて・・・短い滞在の間になんてたくさん遊んだことでしょう。 滅多に会うこともなければ、メールのやりとりすらも頻繁にするわけではないのです。けれど、いつでも近くに思えるし、会えば心地よい。私たちのここでの暮らしが、彼女を含めたくさんの友人たちに支えられ、また繋がりながら展開していることに感謝の気持ちが起こります。この度、彼女も転職して新しい環境で働き始めます。ある写真家さんのアシスタントとして働く彼女の新たな試みを誇りに思い、活躍を祈ります。明浜を出て関東に戻った彼女からは、すぐにわくわくするような小包が。中には、温かい手紙と新しい上司の作品の数々がぎっしり！（う）も（す）も歓喜の声。どうもありがとう。 お互い頑張ろうね。そして、ぜひまた会いましょう。 （わ）
