 Umeo has been waiting for this day: it's her 4th birthday dinner party. She is actually dreaming of becoming an elementary school student. To her, being a student is somehow like a symbol of being "a grown up girl". So, gaining age is really an important process for her. I was very happy to order a birthday cake from "yotsubaya", who makes my favorite type of sweets. One of Golpo-kko members introduced a woman of "yotsubaya" to me and brought her cake rolls as a souvenir, which were mildly sweet and had a really gentle taste. Since then, we are big fans of her sweets. This time, I ordered Umeo's birthday cake and requested her to write a message on a big heart-shaped biscuit, which was actually what Umeo really wanted to see on her cake.  That day, we had the usual Gorpo-kko activity, so some members stayed till dinner to join the party. Along with some more neighbors, we cut the cake into 11 pieces and enjoyed!   By the way, prior to the party day, Umeo kept saying "I want this and that as my birthday gifts, oh, plus this and that bla bla bla..." It was just endless, so this year we decided to let Umeo choose ONE thing as a gift. We promised her that we would buy whatever she chose, but only ONE. When we went to the shop, she took quite a long time to decide. Walking from this section to that section, then finally what she chose was......a pair of funny sunglasses! Ha! So, with her best selected glasses, favorite friends, and special cake, she was SO happy that night. In the happy atmosphere, Sukla got excited, too. So were we, of course. I simply appreciated those people around us who come and spend their valuable time with us. I wish such bonds become stronger and wider year by year. Umeo and Sukla are, indeed, playing an important role to bring such wonderful bonds to us as a family. Wakana   君の頬に この日は（う）の4歳の誕生日を祝う夕食会。彼女はこの日を心待ちにしていました。 実は、小学生になることを今か今かと夢見ている（う）。小学生になるということが何か素敵な「お姉さんになった証」のように思えるのだそうです。なので、一歳でも年をとることは、彼女によってとても重要な道のり。 誕生日のケーキは、「ごるぽっこ」のメンバーの一人が紹介してくれた「よつば屋」さんにお願いしました。Mさんが一人で作っているのですが、私好みの甘さ控えめの優しいケーキがたまりません。一度、お土産にもらってから、うちではすっかり皆がファンになってしまいました。今回の注文では、大きなハート形のビスケットにメッセージを入れてもらうようお願いしました。これは、（う）からのリクエストだったのですが。 その日は、いつもの「ごるぽっこ」の日だったので、そのまま夕食パーティーの時間まで残った親子もいて、賑やか。近所のいつもの友だちも加わって、ケーキは見事に11等分に。皆でやんやと楽しみました。 ところで、この日に先駆けて、誕生日プレゼントについてあーだこーだ言っていた（う）。「あれが欲しい、これが欲しい、ああ、そうだあれも・・・」と、きりがありません。なので、今年は「お店に連れて行くから、何でもどれか１つだけ買うことにしよう」ということにしてみました。えっ！と、驚きながらも熟考する（う）。店の隅々まで見定めて・・・選んだ品物は、へんてこなサングラス。あは！ というわけで、選び抜かれたサングラスに、大好きな友だち、それと特別なケーキに囲まれて、（う）は大変ご機嫌な夜を過ごしました。なんだかつられて（す）のテンションも上がります。もちろん、私たちもですが。私たちと一緒に、豊かな時間を一緒に過ごしてくれる友人たちに感謝です。こんなつながりが、年を重ねるごとに強く、また広がっていくことを願って。（う）も（す）も、確かに私たち家族に素敵な出会いと時間をもたらしてくれているように思います。 （わ） |

そっかー、梅音４歳になったんだね！おめでとう〜〜！
サングラス、悩みに悩んで選んだんだね。よく似合ってる(^^) 次会うときは何歳になってるかなー？成長が楽しみです。
