With an big help from our friends, Yuki harvested most of our own Iyokan (one of the citrus fruits) today. Thanking them, we organized a dinner party using the irori fireplace, inviting kids from the Okimura family and S-chan with her baby.
We have used the irori fireplace for BBQ many times, but it was the first time to try earthen pots there. We tend to experiment new things when we invite friends. Yes, having guests encourage us to explore more potentials of this house!
Before dinner time, Ume-san brought a bottle of Shochu (distilled alcohol) celebrating Yuki's first harvest at his own field. It was so touching and encouraging.
As for the dinner party, two earthen pots just fitted there (thank god!), but managing the intensity of the fire was quite challenging. Though Mr. H, who has various know-hows about cooking in earthen pots was with us, our irori-trial was going on.
It was such a happening party around the Irori fireplace, and it warmed all of us that night.

伊予柑と鍋パーティー
友人数名に手伝ってもらって、（ゆ）はこの日、自分の農園での伊予柑収穫を行いました。感謝を込めて、夜は囲炉裏で鍋パーティーをすることにしていました。沖村家の子どもたちなど他に何人かの友人も交えての夕食会です。
これまで、囲炉裏をBBQにはよく使ってきましたが鍋は初めて。いつもお客さんがいる時に限って、何か新しいことをしてみたい気になってしまうのが我が家の癖です。えいや、と実験をしてみたくなる。この家の使い方の可能性をもっと探りたくなるのです。
夕食会に先立って、梅さんが焼酎を片手にやってきました。なんと、上原農園での初収穫を祝っての一本だそうです。囲炉裏に火が入る前に、ちょっとジーンと心温まる出来事でした。
夕食会はというと、二つの土鍋が囲炉裏にちょうどぴったし収まった、のはよかったのですが、火の調節がなかなか難しくて、鍋はぐつぐつぐつ・・・。鍋奉行で知らせるHさんも苦笑いしつつ、一緒にわいわいがやがやはしで鍋をつつきます。
ああ面白かった。心も体もとってもぽかぽかしているのは、囲炉裏の火のせいだけではないのでしょうね。皆さん、どうもありがとうございました。
