M went back home to Kanagawa yesterday, and N-chan has left for Shizuoka this afternoon, too. Now, all those who helped us in the "Kanman-beya" project and housework have left. I realized that it is the first time that only four of us are at home.
Early one evening, a day before M left, we saw two rainbows in the orange sky. One was small, but the other was huge and of a perfect bridge-shape. Both were just so beautiful and still. Looking up at the sky, I felt really relaxed and found that the long, hot and super-busy summer is over. Two big projects: renovation and baby, seemingly went well with a great deal of help of many many people. Some renovation work is still left, but the major parts is finished. Our new-born son, Sukla, is now in our arms and keeps growing day by day.
We think that the real quality and value of "Kanman-beya" can been seen only we start living as a family interacting with neighbors and friends in/outside this village. This is because we started the renovation project not as a summer event, but to really settle down in this area.
The winter is just around the corner, and we will move to the new stage very soon.
Wakana
初めての4人きり
昨日、Mが神奈川へ帰りました。今日の午後には、Nちゃんが静岡に戻っていきました。「かんまん部屋プロジェクト」や家事育児を手伝ってくれた人たちが全員引き揚げて、（す）が産まれて以来初めて家に4人きりになることに気づきます。
Mが帰る前日の夕方、オレンジ色の空に虹を二つ見つけました。一つは小さかったけれど、もう一つは巨大できれいな半円でした。どちらも本当にきれいで、静かにそこにありました。空を見上げながら、なんだか妙に落ち着いて、ふと長く暑く忙しい夏が終わったのだなと思いました。
家の改修と出産という、二つの大きな出来事は、本当にたくさんの人たちの協力のもとに進みました。改修作業はまだ少し残っていますが、大きな大工仕事は終了しています。産まれたての息子の（す）も日々すくすく成長しています。
「かんまん部屋」のことが本当に分かるのは、私たち家族がそこで、ご近所さんや内外の友人たちと関わりながら暮らし始めてようやく分かるようになるのでしょう。この家づくりは、単に夏の行事として始めたのではなく、この地域に根付くために始めたのですから。
冬はもうすぐそこです。我が家の次の生活の始まりも、すぐそこまできています。
