 久しぶりに明浜のスケッチをとりました。 狩浜の、イシマブシと呼ばれるあたりからの眺めなのですが、実はこれ、近く母国へ帰る、仲の良いフィリピンからの農業実習生のレイために描いたものです。 これまでにも、ここを離れていく友人に、彼らに所縁のある場所のスケッチを贈ることが、しばしばありました。ですが最近はストックが少なく、また、レイはぽころこ農園で一緒に仕事をしてきたわけではないので、作業の合間にとったスケッチも、何だかぴんと来ません。 そこで、朝一番にみかん山にあがって、彼がよく仕事をしていた園地に近い農道に車を停めたわけです。彼の住むマサヤンハウスもよく見える、気持ちのよい場所でした。 僕はときどき、文章を書いてみたり、絵を描いたり、唄を作ってみたりしますが、ことばにしたり文章を書いたりするのは、考え込むために、絵を描くのは、夢を見るために、唄は、忘れないようにするために作ってみるのかな、と思うことがあります。スケッチは、絵を描くというよりは、どちらかといえば文章を書くことに近いような気がします。 だから誰かのためにスケッチをとるということは、普通はしないこと。ですがこんな風にやってみると、新鮮な気持ちです。 この絵は手前製本のようなことをして、少しきれいに仕上げて、彼に手渡そうと思っています。 （ゆ） ISHIMABUSHI I made a sketch after a long time. I made this sketch for Ray, an agricultural trainee from Philippines and a good friend of mine, who has stayed here for three years and will go back to his country very soon. I've made some sketches for friends who had gone back to their countries after staying here, and I used to select sketches which were related to each of them. However, I couldn't find any suitable one for Ray this time. He worked for a different farm from where I work - from Pocoloco, and many of my sketches were drawn at the Pocoloco fields. So, I went up to the citrus mountain one early morning to make a sketch from where I can see Ray's working field and Masayang House, where he has been living. I sometimes write, draw, and compose songs. To me, writing is for thinking deeply, drawing is for dreaming, and creating songs is for memorizing things. Making sketches is somehow close to writing rather than drawing in this sense. That's why I rarely make sketches for someone, but it's quite refreshing once in a while. I'm going to frame the sketch and gift it to Ray before he goes. Yuki |
