僕より後輩の人でも、「すごいな」と思わせる人と出会うことがもちろんあります。そんな若者が、ここ数日のあいだに、2人も立て続けに、かんまん部屋へ立ち寄ってくれました。
ひとりはK君。トラックマンションで、彼にとっての農閑期に西日本を旅しています。農業や農業に関わる社会観に、とても刺激を受けました。長い付き合いになっていきそうです。 もうひとりは、かんまん部屋の隣家出身で、現在は京都に拠点を置いているRy君。8か月かけて世界を旅してきました。出発前に、インドにも立ち寄りたい、ということで、ここを訪問してくれたのですが、（わ）と彼と三人で話すのは、南アジアのことももちろんですが、自分の生き方や大人観とでも言いましょうか、もっとずっと幅広い内容。今回は、お土産を持って、旅の報告に来てくれました。 これは面白くなりそうだ。ということで、この二人が来た時に、今春から大学進学する友人を誘いました。近所に住む彼女は、少し前に、学生時代の過ごし方の話などを聞きに来てくれたのです。とても気が利くので、最近は子守に（わ）に呼び出されることも多いのですが、K君とRy君との時間は、彼女にとっても刺激的なものであったようです。 ささいなことでも、他の人があまり知らないことを知っている、聞いたことがある、そして見たことがある、会ったことがある、ということの積み重ねが自信になり、また運を呼び寄せるのだと思います。次にこの友人たちの話を聞くのが楽しみです。 （ゆ） Reliable friends Often, I meet someone who is younger to me, who certainly leaves me impressed. During the last few days, two such young friends visited us at Kanaman-beya. One of them was K. He drove down from Niigata with his original camping car. He had been traveling around western Japan because it's agricultural off-season for him. His perspective towards agriculture and society around agriculture stimulated me a lot. I'm sure that we'll have a longstanding relationship. The other one was Ry, who is from the next door to Kanman-beya and now a university student in Kyoto. He had been traveling around the world for the last 8 months. Before his departure, he visited us to get some information about India from Wakana, as India was in his plan, but when the three of us sat for a chat, we talked about various things not only about South Asia, but also about ways of living, what we think about being "an adult" etc...This time, he came back from his journey and visited us again with gifts . These guys were so stimulating that we called another young girl, who is our neighbor and a university student-to-be from the coming Spring. She had visited us once in a while to know about the stories from our students days. As she is really considerate and loves kids, Wakana used to call her to let her play with the kids once in a while, but this time, we called her to let her meet with these interesting guys. It seemed like meeting with them was stimulating to her, too. Even if it's a tiny thing, if one knows, has heard, has seen, and has experienced what others haven't, the accumulation of these experiences will eventually strengthen his/her confidence and bring good luck. I'm looking forward to getting a chance to hear their stories in the near future. Yuki |
