 A dutch oven and a huge gas burner have come to the kitchen of Kanman-beya. They are both heavy, black, and made of iron. These casting stuff make us just as excited! The dutch oven is 12 inch and the burner is as big as a professionally used one. We bought these with the extra prize money that "Golpo-kko" had won. With these ovens, we would like to organize pizza parties here with everyone. The Dutch oven is acutally for camping, but sitting in our kitchen, it really fits in as Kanman-beya life itself is almost like "camping" (having earth floor, drafts, etc...). The idea of a pizza party came from the master carpenter who made Kanman-beya. When he came here from Hokkaido to join the renovation project, he brought his own pizza oven and organized such a nice pizza party in our garden inviting various people! At that time, we borrowed a huge gas burner from community hall. We believe in the power and energy of "eating together", so having useful and strong party tools strengthen the potential of Kanman-beya, we thought. Now, I'm finding ways to tackle the dutch oven, trying out many different recipes. Controlling the flame is quite difficult, so I need some more time to master it, but I'm dreaming of the day when we can organize a party inviting all Golpo-kko related people! Wakana ダッチオーブン ダッチオーブンと、巨大なガスバーナーが「かんまん部屋」にやってきました。 どちらもずっしりと重量感があり、真っ黒な鉄でできています。この鋳物の姿を見てるだけで、わくわくしてしまう私たち。ダッチオーブンは12インチで、バーナーは業務用。これらを、「ごるぽっこ」でもらった副賞3万円で買いました。これでピザパーティを開催することを目指して。ダッチオーブンはそもそも、キャンプなどで使われるアウトドアに最適なもの。けれど、この外のような中のような「かんまん部屋」の土間の台所に、妙にしっくりきているのがいい感じです。 ピザパーティーのイメージは、ここの改修プロジェクトに参加してくれた棟梁がきっかけです。彼が北海道からやってきたとき、自分のピザ窯を持参してきていたのです。そして業務用のガスバーナーを借りてきて、工事途中の「かんまん部屋」の庭でいろんな人を集めてピザパーティが行われました。一緒に食事をすること、この単純なことが持つ力をなんとなく確信している私たちなので、今回のような大人数で食事ができるアイテムを揃えることが、ここの可能性を高めてくれると純粋に考えているのです。 というわけで、最近私は、色々なレシピでダッチオーブンと奮闘中。如何せん火加減が難しいのです。使いこなすまでもう少し時間はかかりそうだけれど、「ごるぽっこ」の関係者をいっぱいいっぱい招待してのピザパーティ－を開催できる日を夢見て、今度は何作ってみようかなと、思案の日々。 （わ） |
