T-kun, a secretary of Karie communiuty hall came to our house in the evening. He brought a notice inviting mascot design for a local group: Good-Takayama committee.
This committee was made last year to make takayama more attractive and active place. Takayama is 1o minutes away (by car) from our place, Karie, and T-kun happened to know about this design conpetition and believed that we would enjoy this. However, the deadline was....that day itself!
Knowing this kind of opportunity, we couldn't just ignore. Yuki spent two nights thinking and researching a lot about Takayama, while I made some images in my mind, as letting Umeo and Sukla sleep. and drew within an hour. How different our approached to the competition are! Here are our designs, and lets see how the result will be.

高山よいとこな会
狩江公民館の主事さんのター君が、ある晩我が家を訪れました。手には、高山地区の地域委員会のマスコットキャラクターのデザイン募集のお知らせの紙。
この会が発足したのは去年のことで、高山地区を魅力的で元気な地域にしようというもの。高山といえば、私たちが暮らす狩江地区から車で10分のお隣集落。ター君はたまたまこの公募を知り、私たちも喜んで参加すると思ったそうな。ところが、締切はまさにその日！
けれど、こういう機会を知ってしまったら無視できない私たち。（ゆ）は二日もほぼ徹夜をして、考えて調べて描きました。一方私は、子どもたちを寝かしながら頭の中でイメージし、最後の一時間でタタタッと完成。なんとまあ、アプローチの仕方が違う私たちでしょう。これがそのキャラクターです。さてさて、結果やいかに。
