仔牛近道

　We went through the first summer vacation in Hayakawa town. With the exception of one weekend in Tokyo, we didn't travel much but spent most of the time in Hayakawa, which is rich in nature and attractive people around.


Yuki's parents visited us with their grand children from Tokyo, and my parents came as well. They love hill walking, so Narada is the best place　for that. Then, friends of us from Tokushima came with her kids to see our life here, and so did my aunt from Tokyo. Well, we seemed like having hosted quite good number of guests this summer, and they all gave us good opportunities to seek adventures and sightseeing spots in Hayakawa. Now we have been to all the yummy Soba-noodle restaurants here, and tried most of the hot springs with them. However, more than anything the discovering of how much fun "rafting" can be as a team sport. The guy who had organized a rafting tour in Hayakawa for many years is such a talented tour guide, and his open minded personality was something great which we found out this summer as well.

On the last day of summer vacation, our kids were already missing the exciting summer days they have had, and also started thinking of what they can enjoy during winter. Well, before winter, let us enjoy autumn here. It must be so beautiful with lots of autumn color of the leaves....!

まるごと早川夏休み


　早川町に来て、初めての夏休みが訪れました。週末に一度、家族で東京へ行ったのを除けば、あまり遠出をせずに早川町内で遊んでいた夏でした。豊かな自然が人を圧倒し、多才な住民があちこちで活動を展開している、という早川町の一面を垣間見たように感じています。

　来客もありました。（ゆ）の両親が、東京の孫たちを連れてやってきました。それから私の方の親も山登りの予定と合わせて奈良田にお泊り。登山をする人には、奈良田は登山の入り口として最適のスポットなんだそうです。徳島の友人も、奈良田での私たちの生活を確かめるべく、小さい子を2人連れてなんと旅をしながら車で来てくれました。最後は東京から、私の叔母がやってきて夏休みを締めくくりました。客人たちとと一緒に遊ぶために、早川町を探検したり調べたり、町内のおいしいお蕎麦屋さんや温泉もほとんど行くことができたり、ととてもいい機会を得たのでした。けれども、なかでも特に印象的だったのは、ラフティングというチームスポーツの楽しみを覚えたこと。町内で何年もラフティングツアーを行ってきているTさんが、これまた優秀なガイドで、開けていてポジティブな性格の彼と出会えたことは、我が家にとってこの夏の大きな収穫だと思っています。

　夏休み最終日、子どもたちは早くも、楽しかった夏の日々を懐かしみ惜しんでいました。そして、これまた早くも、冬休みには何して遊べるのだろうかと思いを巡らせているのですから、ちょっと待ってよ、と私。その前に来る秋も楽しもうよ。きっと山全体が色づいて、見たこともない景色が待っているんだろうなぁ。
