During the summer vacation, local elementary schools open its swimming pools for local kids. So, Umeo loves going there almost every day.
There is a shallow pool for small kids, where Umeo tries various forms of "swimming". It has been so amazing to see how quickly she gets used to water day by day. Day #1, she was just sitting in the water saying "this is like a big bathtub!". Day #2, she observed what other older kids did, and tried to move around in the water. Day #3, she put her face in the water, Day #4 ....
Now she can float, go into the water with her eyes open, jump into the water from my knees, and tumble in the water etc..., which even scares me.
Let's see what she will do next year!

プールへ行こう
夏休みの間、地元の小学校がプールを開放してくれます。(う）は初めてのプールに、もうわくわく。
小さい子用の浅いプールも併設されていて、そこで（う）はいろんな「泳ぎ」を試します。みるみると水に慣れていく（う）の姿は頼もしく、とても興味深いもの。一日目、水に浸かって「大きいお風呂みたい！」というだけ。二日目、他の小学生の泳ぎを観察して、水の中で動きまわってみます。三日目、水に顔をつけてみて、4日目・・・
通い続け、今となっては、浮く、水中で目を開ける、私の膝の上からジャンプして飛び込む、水中ででんぐり返し、などとこちらがハラハラするほど。
さて、来年は何を披露してくれるのやら。
