アプサラダンス【Apsara Dance】
カンボジアに古くから伝わる宮廷舞踊の一つ。
きらびやかな衣装に身を包んだ女性たちが、妖艶な踊りを舞う。
手の動きに特徴があり、カンボジア独特の雰囲気があるといわれる。
現代では鑑賞用に洗練されていて、ショーとして随時開催されている。
「アプサラ」の語源は、「アプサラス（Apsaras）」という古代インドの神話に登場する天女。
アンコールワットの遺跡に舞のようすが描かれている。
An apsara, also spelled as apsaras by the Oxford Dictionary (respective plurals apsaras and apsarases),
is a type of female spirit of the clouds and waters in Hindu and Buddhist culture.
They figure prominently in the sculpture, dance, literature and painting of many South Asian
and Southeast Asian cultures.
There are two types of apsaras; laukika (worldly), of whom thirty-four are specified,
and daivika (divine), of which there are ten.[failed verification] Urvasi,
Menaka, Rambha, Tilottama and Ghritachi are the most famous among them.
